Zinner & Co. LLP Partner Susan Krantz, CPA, CGMA, was honored with a prestigious Rainmaker award as the Nonprofit Certified Public Accountant (CPA) member of the year.
Presented during the Rainmaker Companies’ annual SuperConference, held in Indianapolis from May 31 through June 2, the award is given annually to a member best described as someone who is a constant source of value to other members. Other criteria include an individual who engages in group activities and contributes to the success of the alliance through leadership, collaboration and the sharing of resources and best practices.
Krantz’s fellow not-for-profit peers felt she best met this criteria and selected her as the Nonprofit CPA member of the year.
“It was a thrill to be selected by the members of my niche group within The Rainmaker Companies for this award,” said Krantz. “We have all achieved excellence and distinction in our field and the fact they celebrated me as the person who has raised the bar in our group and within my Firm is a true honor.”
Throughout the years she has attended the conference, Krantz said she actively participated in group activities, was willing to learn from and with other members and develop relationships within The Rainmaker Companies.
“I served on the Executive Committee of nonprofit CPAs for many years and was president of this member group,” she said. “I firmly believe that you only get out of a group what you are willing to put in.”
The award solidifies the best in class work that Zinner & Co.’s clients deserve, she said.
“The Rainmaker Companies see us as masters of our craft, trailblazers and change-makers,” said Krantz. “My participation in The Rainmaker Companies, and specifically nonprofit CPAs, has helped Zinner & Co. create a stronger foundation and draft a blueprint that reflects the future of our profession and the not-for-profit industry.”
Before joining Zinner & Co. in 1990, Krantz began her career working at a “Big 4 firm.” She was named a partner at Zinner in 1999. With over 30 years of experience in accounting and auditing, Krantz serves a diverse client base that includes not-for-profits, manufacturing, distribution, service, HUD-assisted multi-family housing projects and labor unions.
“I am very proud that Sue has been recognized for her commitment to the not-for-profit community on a national level,” said Zinner & Co. Managing Partner Robin Baum, CPA. “She has dedicated her career to the not-for-profit community here in Northeast Ohio and is highly respected for her knowledge of the industry. Many not-for-profits seek her out as a resource in the community.”
